The bayonet itself is baffling. Looks like somewhat akin to a Yugo for the handle...but it almost seems like a blend between a spike and a blade...could just be the pictures but something is odd about the shape of it. The blood grooves seem very deep...

There is so much about this that it is fascinating. I want one.

I agree, neat bayo.

However, while I think it's cool as hell to see pics of one, i always have thought that that gun is ugly as sin. Lol kind of like a bastard mutant child of a retarded inbred sks.

I kinda dig the oddballs...and the gas tube reminds me of wifey.  :)

What is the deal with the bayo mount and handle though, is it perhaps to attach a grenade launcher?  If so, this was quite the 'Swiss Army knife' of SKS's.

It looks like the lock open on the bayo is two hooks that latch together.  Somewhat like the Yugo 59/66 in that there is no loop that goes over the end of the barrel.

That little gas adjust knob at the front of the gas tube drives me nuts.  Reminds me of an ugly wart on a witch's nose.

It's clear the Chinese took the SKS and tried to make it select fire, with a removable mag, and easy to manufacture.  From what I've heard, I think they essentially failed to varying degrees on all three items.   There's something to be said that it took until the 80's for MO to show them how to do a proper conversion to make an SKS accept stock AK mags.  rofl

I never understood even the attempt.

Didn't they have Ak's? I mean Wtf.

Pretty darn sure its based on a rotating bolt design also.... but a real POS from what china interweb states.  Hopefully an importer brings in some cut-up parts kits from Albania.  China sent a metric crap-ton of these to Albania.

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Interesting!!!!!

I cant make out the serial #.......     banghead1

Arsenal is too washed out for me to make it out, but the S/N sure looks like 11284568 to me.  11th year of T63/68 production could be 1973?  Amazing to see the similarities of these to the 23 mils, 24 mils, & late M21s and their french ticklers and III battle sight settings.  They are clearly closely related to each other, more-so than to the other SKS factories....

Good stuff!  thumb1

I just looked at the original pics and your guess on the serial #s seems bang on. As for the production factory,,ya its too blurry but I specifically looked at that when I was there and it was a 26

So we may be seeing more of this very unusual carbine? I agree with Worm, this critter is ugly but very fascinating!

No different then the torched AK kits.....  just a matter of an importer using their brains and bringing them in.  Im sire nodak will be happy to supply receivers etc.
