Just picked this up the other day. All matching with a mint bore. Importer is Keng's, and serial number reads "416 M21 23014xxx". Not an expert, but presumably this is an export SKS?

Very nice m2...   cant tell in your pic, but it should have a french tickler handguard?

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Slater

No, just the standard wooden handguard.

That's a beauty!  I would be happy to have one of those in my collection.

Weird it doesn't have the tickler plastic hand guard or the relief cut in the stock for the receiver cover latch like nearly all m21 had. I'm guessing polytech aka kengs  changed stocks and hand guards?

Slater

I suppose that's a possibility. The stock is serial number matched to the rest of the rifle, so they would (presumably) have to have used a new stock.

The gentleman I bought it from said that he acquired it in the late 1980's and it sat unfired in his collection since then. From it's overall condition, I would tend to believe him.

Interesting....  womder is all the 016/416 m21 rifles were this way.   think1

I do know, not all the 23/24m guns had the FT hanguard.
