Here is a 1950 Non-Refurb I recently purchased it is one of the rarer non-refurbs in my collection.
Enjoy!

Good lookin' carbine...Carbine! Non-refurb you guys are referring to means it is not a factory refinish?

That carbine is older than I am and looks better to boot.

You would be correct, never had any parts replaced or refurbished, all original.

What's up with the sight slider halfway down the ladder? Does that thing actually shoot that low?

I love the Type 1 bolt and original spring loaded pin too. That's an early '50 for sure.

Beautiful example. Nothing like my old 50'. Does this one have the non-chrome lined barrel also?

Tex

This is one of the hardest Tula series (Dated) that is in original condition compared to the "1951" dated model. I think the "1950"series right behind the "1949" Tula which I have only seen one picture of what looks to be a original condition here in the States about 8 years ago on gunboards. I think it sold on Gunbroker for around $2500 at that time.
The 1950 original would be #2 on my Russian list, and is almost impossible to find, thank God I was lucky enough to find one in West Virginia at a reenactment show about 2006. This is a  Great find and a beautiful condition and very lucky to find it in this beautiful condition.

Thanks Tex, It is one that came out of Oregon, I bought this and a lee enfield from the same guy. I am very greatful to have found it. I would love to find a 90 deg. gas block 1950 someday I think they are pretty cool also.

I got real lucky and got a 50 with the 90 degree block about a year ago, I have been tracking 49 and 50's with the 90 and only seen 7 of them --unfortunately mine is a light refurb but it is definitely  different.

Yeah Crazyone...what Carbine said!!

SHIZEN !!   I stand corrected and apologize. When I was buying SKS Russians a year ago the procedure was for my son to read out the serial number and any features and I would enter them on my inventory and they were placed in my safe.  Since it was in the back I have not dug it out since then but I guess I have to go all through them again!!  It is  1950--refurbed -clean with early features such as the loop in the cover pin and the spring loaded firing pin,"DDR marking" .
I think old mineral oil will remember it !!  I guess that means there is only 6 that I have seen--
