Just picked it up today. Figured I'd post a few pics here

Some replacement parts and one force matched trigger group but it's still a 1953 Izhevsk so I'm happy.

Do you have a photo of the serial numbers on the receiver and dust cover?

  You need a crew

"A free people ought not only be armed and disciplined" (George Washington),
But they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of Independence from any who might attempt to abuse them. echo1

Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.~John Adams 1798

Technically speaking, the stocks do...grow on trees that is.  rofl  rofl  dance2  dance2  thankyou1
My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.

I think Referb 53's are more rare than non referb 53s clap1  Nice clean SkS thumb1

Nice! Probably someone replaced the original magazine with a duckbill then lost the original and a later owner found a Russian 10 round magazine to restore it. Though not original, I like the laminate stocks. Good looking '53  thumb1

The mag was probably mixed up when it was imported. Canadian rifles must be pinned to 5rnds and some places didn't keep mags together.
