I was looking for a decent AK example to my collection, so I picked up this WASR-10/63. Nothing fancy...just a solid example. The laminated furniture is. Bit worn, but that's okay with me.

The two downsides are the missing muzzle device and no bayonet lug. I know the slanted brakes are available...but it's a $2 part with $15 shipping. So I'll wait until I can find one locally.

I need a new glass block with the bayonet lug...this one was ground off.

I put a few rounds through it and it was flawless. I need to dig out my AK mags for so ore more range time.

I'm not sure what "reasonable" is. I paid $850 for mine, which I didn't feel was outrageous. 🤷🏼�♂️

Yea those are nice. I always likes the older darker 10/63 WASR. Just Nasty lol. Cool Saiga too. I have a couple virgins in the safe. Out of the two which one shoots better ? And what mags do you prefer for the wasr ?

Nice! I like the Romanian laminate furniture, classic 8) I think it looks fine in its current "well-used" form.


I bought some Romanian Garda AKM (Romy G) furniture sets back when they were widely available. The ones I got definitely had water damaged shellac, so I refinished them. I used denatured alcohol to strip it (soaked for a couple of hours to overnight in a ziploc bag). Dried. For the finish, I used a roughly 3:1 garnet to amber flake shellac dissolved in warmed denatured ethanol. Applied the shellac, dried overnight, light rub with #000 steel wool, wipe down with a clean cloth, repeat until I got the color I liked...or I'd had enough of the repetition  :))
