Traded a /306\ for this Lil fella a few days ago, the guy told me it was all matching numbers Romy lol. I didn't argue with him.
From what I've read on these its a typical Romanian SKS  with all the mismatched parts. The gas tube, piston and stock are all different numbers but everything else is matching. The gas tube appears to have a bc590 stencil, piston cd610 and stock is EF 3767. I assume they are all still Romanian although from what I've seen they should be 4 numbers after the letters?
Anyhow on with the pics

Looks like all the mismatched parts are all from 1958.
I need to find a correct sling and cleaning kit for it also.

Nice rifle.  So you traded straight across for a chinese?  Guy was nuts!

jusridin

I had to throw in a after market stock with the other rifle so I found a 52 Russian with a after market stock (posted in Russian thread) and put it on the Chinese and traded it straight across :P

Currently I'm trying to get one of each country lol, you have one of each year in Romanians. Your 58 spurred me to make this last trade happen. Said it a few times already and I am sayin it again... Thanks GM!

Nice rifle JR!  thumb1   I blame Carl for all my problems all the time.  Global warming, famines in africa, strife in Crimea, all his fault yup!  wink1

The Romys follow the same pattern as the Ruskies: XX1 is the first rifle in the set, then they increment up to XX10->XX100, and finally enter the thousands at XX1000 up to XX9999 and then increment the prefix.  As such, it's not uncommon to see S/N's with only 2 or 3 digits after the prefix.  thumb1

Yup.  I used to own BCxx-1958.  There are definitely 1,2, and 3 digit rifles out there!

jusridin

All in all I'm pretty happy with it, seems to be all Romanian, fair condition for my first Romanian, learned a few more things about the SKS.
Can't wait to shoot it :)

Loose}{Cannon

Thats a very nice Romy....   in the top 90% for sure.   Just look at the quality on that sucker....  you are going to be very happy with its performance.    thumb1

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.
