There is a youtuber that has 12k followers making videos on the sks (mostly chinese) that regurgitates and plagiarizes information found ONLY on sksfiles (specifically from our data pages) and never credits the files on anything of importance he takes credit for. Only once has he mentioned yours truly regarding a dumb post on the yugo rubber duck.

He recently acquired Soviet Sino #0443 and made a video. First off all somehow this rifle was already on our list. Secondly the vid shows clear images of the serial and star BUT the font is completely wrong in my opinion…. see images. There has never been an early jianshe with that font… ever. The 3 and the 4

Im calling you out.  There is FAR too much of sksfiles data in your videos to not have met the 50 post threshold for access.  Who are you on here so we can clear this sheetshow up?

I had seen that video before, Matchka posted it a long while ago. (https://sks-files.com/index.php?topic=7436.msg79794#msg79794)...that's why we have the S/N in the database. 

I hadn't looked too closely at the receiver S/N, but you're right.  It looks to be a scrub and restamp to me.  The other parts seem to have correct fonts:




The stock, however, appears to be a repurposed Russian one.  The Tula star and old S/N are both visible in this screen shot:



Very unusual for that to be.  In fact, I can find no other examples of a Chinese Soviet-Sino with a repurposed and restamped Russian stock.  Either he or some other American did it themselves after import (it's been obviously refinished so that is certainly possible), or ?? ?  I find it highly unlikely the Chinese took an old Russian stock, stripped and sanded it, restamped it, and then used it on a refurb, but I guess anythnig is possible.  I would not pay in the 'low Trinity Rifle $$' for this one for certain...too many heebie jeebies. 

For reference (because LC asked me) here are other Soviet-Sinos with 3's or 4's in the S/N.  Youtube guys gun is certainly the odd man out:

He stated in the video he added that stock and stamped it. Mine also has a replacement russian stock I believe

I still wanna hear from this guy here on the files whether its via PM or open discussion. If any of our members know who this guy is on the files please message me.

It's Latin, Peace. I actually only use it as a screen name on the "other" SKS site.
It's echo1 (my backpackin crew since '68) across the rest of the internet universe and part of my written signature since the '60s. It was also the name of my video production company, "PAX Video Production Services". The questionable fella isn't me and that's the story I'm stickin too. PAX

Who ever he is I have hard time making through any of his videos in one sitting, his voice tone just puts me to sleep.

I enjoy his videos as well but like I said his voice just puts me to sleep if the video runs long.  Agree that citing sources is a must otherwise it is just his opinion.
