I have one of these late Type 56 rifles, what I call the end of run guns, up on the chopping block and got to wondering just how many of these there are around? I got it in an old CE folder and found an excellent condition pinned barrel stock set for it. The rest of the action is matching number. It is an '89 year build with no arsenal stamp, etc. Here's the Import stamping. Thoughts anyone???

I don't think anyone (even PS or XXXJoe) had ever done S/N collection of these plain Jane late commercial SKSs.  Several tens of thousand just based on S/N, but there are multiple importers to consider as well.  Jury is still out as to whether the S/N's for these were shared among multiple importers like is seen in other commercial Chinese SKS.  dntknw1

Kind of what I figured, just wanted a second opinion. I almost messaged you for the answer as I also figured you'd be the first one to respond, LOL.

Thanks RM.
