A friend knew I had picked up a few SKS rifles and gave me the heads up on a rifle at a local shop . I decided to check it out and found this  .. Albanian , an all numbers matching And the finish is in great shape !

The dealer was asking big $$ and wouldn’t budge a dime . I hated to hand it back not knowing if I’d ever find another , especially one in this great of shape so I had to pony up the $$ and think of it as a great investment - I don’t think I’ll be disappointed ; )

I started out with one .. now there’s 8 , is there a cure for this ? ?

FN 49s are your only hope. Nice score. I've sold 13 SKSs over the last few years (including an Alby) and I'm down to 32, with 9 Paratroopers  (in the case) PAX

I really like the FN49s and keep thinking I need one in 30-06 or maybe 8mm Mauser.

Seeing how many you have makes me feel better about how many I have.

Good looking Alby, Papahound! What year of production is it? I'll guess 1976, but it's only a WAG.  '76-'78 were similar in the stock finishes.

They're a bit harder to find nowadays and when you do, it may cost you a bit more. But I think you'll find the investment worth it. Especially for an all-matching specimen. Did it come with the correct oiler and cleaning kit in the stock? They're a bit rare but you can find them. The actual Alby-made slings are hard to find. Mine came with old well-used Chinese slings on them.

Last 2 digits in the s/n are - 71

Unfortunately there was no cleaning kit in the stock and I’m not sure about the sling ; it may be from another manufacturer .. I’m not up on my slings but it is good shape .

The dealer wanted $1200 and wouldn’t budge , I decided to take the plunge since it was in good shape and numbers do match , wasn’t sure if I’d ever get another chance at another one , very pleased so far

The 3rd is 8mm Egyptian, and could be had. Not matching but has a crown not eagles.
The 4th one is my most recent acquisition, about 2 years ago. Belgium 30-06 was traded for 3 SKSs. PAX
