This one is for sale on a local site.  Is it a legit stamped SKS?

Just curious as I don't know much about them.  Interesting to see some differences vs milled.

Yup sure is.  Too bad about the stock condition though (is it a mismatch? that first digit does not look like a 6 to me at all).

This one has the telltale crack (or start of the crack) right between the front rivet and the crossbolt.

I saw that and figured it was a crack.  Is that because the stock is thinner there?

The serial on the stock does appear to have been over-stamped.

His price is $1250.

2nd one Ive heard about in 6 months.  Looks legit.  They are rare birds....

Is $1250 a decent price for an all matching stamped receiver SKS like the pictured above?

running-man

I personally would pay that price, but I know people that would.

My idea of a fair price for one is closer to $750, and even at that it would have to be a very nice one. The sks market is so jacked up right now, who's to say what's really 'fair' anymore.   dntknw1

C'mon RM, you tellin' me you wouldn't pay $775 for one of those if you knew that was going to get it? :P chuckles1 chuckles1
My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.
