New AK headed my way

I have been sorta looking for another Tula SKS to add to the two I have but with some of the prices I've seen I thought maybe I should wait a bit. Then my self-enabling mind started thinking maybe it's a good time to grab a foreign AK with all the junk going on over there. I own a nice Romy G underfolder, a VSKA and a Riley Defense. Also a Century VZ-58 and a Zastava 5.56 AK sbr. Need more vintage iron. Of course AK prices seem a little nuts too.

Saw this late last week with no bids on it. Seller sure didn't post many pics but I gambled and got it. When I went to bed that night there were no bids. Woke up at 2am and it had one bid. Could find no (11) rifles of this vintage to compare it to so I thought that seemed to be a good thing. I jumped in and a few minutes later it was mine. Got the seller to call me the next day. It's a JRA build which according to what I can find can be hit or miss. It's a Morrissey receiver and the seller said the wood is very nice. Looks like a nice one. I'd guess the lack of pics may have kept some buyers away.

It almost looks like he didn't want to sell it. Got my fingers crossed on this one for sure. Did some more looking around and from what I can see if there is nothing wrong with the build I did ok.

He has sufficient good feedback too. Don't see how you could go wrong with a Polish AK.

Congrats! It looks like a nice one! I've always liked the Polish laminate stocks and it appears the stock set has been mounted correctly and flush. With your previous array of AK's, I'm sure you know to check the rivet work on the receiver. As long as the build was done correctly, you'll have a great shooter that should last longer than any of us.

Yep, another nice moderately high-end surplus firearm with a non-impressive set of 4 pics for the auction. Why?

It may well have worked in your favor, though. I hope so!

The good thing is Lowell is not at all excited about this rifle.

Me excited? Yepppppppp....
The seller got my money order today so I should have this in my hands by the end of next week.
Found a nice early sling with the leather strap and buckle and have that headed my way.

Laugh, you guys are like drug dealers with all the enabling. What has GM wrought here?! (Even if L66 self enabled to start with, you guys are are ZERO help!!)

Not much into AK's, but nice rifle!! Always got to respect Polish Weapons. My opinion is that they're some of the best.

Looks like a nice rifle with good looking parts.

I'm sure you already know this, but general rule of thumb when it comes to "no name" kit builds is you always want to check the headspace.

10-4 on the headspace. Vince from the old Red Jacket thing has his own shop about 20 minutes from me. I will let him look it over when it comes in.

Yes I did an about the same time my laptop crashed again. I never tried posting pics with my phone. They fixed it for free and got it back yesterday. Busy weekend but I'll post up some pics tomorrow
