They are, Bud's just doesn't recognize them as such. They wouldn't have been able to be imported if they weren't!

Only works when both the seller and buyer both agree they are C&R.  It's a shame, but it is what it is...

CORRECT! I've tried to educate a couple of sellers that they're missing out on a crate load of CA bidders. Just plain lazy &/or ig'nernt.

I've done a few RTI and Classic cosmoline specials and it's been a few years. I figured the price wasn't bad and wanted to have fun with one. If it comes in better than expected I may order a couple more to stick away for when I get the urge to get dirty or make the wife mad by stinking up the place over the next few years.

Seeing those same guns recently cleaned up at gun shows for $750+ is disgusting.

Yup, the price appreciation has been very interesting to say the least.

Yep - those $299 SKSs from Classic were a decent deal then and a great deal now.   

I was seeing them listed on Gbkr for at least $100 more soon after that.

I got a couple from my LGS when they first came ashore (2014?), $198 & $269. Right after that they started to creep up PAX

My Bud's Gun Shop Cosmo Special came on Friday, picked it up yesterday. I had received several emails regarding massive order influx causing the delay in shipment. I wasn't in no huge hurry so didn't bother me any though.

Upon inspection this morning, the rifle has at least a 1/4" of grease on every part of rifle. For that I'm definitely happy. A quick wipe down of serial number locations revealed all matching external metal and on the stock there were some empty brass cartouches and a pocket knife star as if they wanted it to be a Tula around the serial number but was still visibly matching to the metal as well. There's also an interesting import mark with a unique serial number designation of #SKSxxxx that obviously varies from the arsenals serialing of the gun entirely.

It's not what we used to get the Chinese cosmo specials for, but it not too much more. They're also not the early Chinese with blade style's that are a bit cooler than these, but for what I paid in today's market and the condition it is in I'm pretty excited!
