Ordered two c grades from RTI after all the posts I've seen all over the gun forums. Was hoping for a ghost and a sino but ended up with a 2 million and a 3 million factory 26. The 3 million was in pretty good shape with lots of cosmo and lots of trench art, the 2 million had very little cosmo, a bunch of rust and a bore filled with dirt. Both stocks had small cracks that were no problem to fix. All matching numbers except the dust cover on the 3 million, if anybody has the matching dust cover Let me know 227839, I'll post the number of the dust cover I have tomorrow when I open the safe. I'd still love a ghost so I was happy to see they were sold out because I was tempted to order 2 more. The bore on the 2 million that was filled with dirt is the worst bore of any of my many surplus rifles, pitted nasty looking. Haven't shot either yet, maybe this weekend. I've got pictures but cannot figure out how to post them >:( I got 2 cleaning rods with the guns too but one is an inch or two too short and alittle bit too big around, doesn't fit in my t53 either so I don't know what its for, it has a slot for a patch down by the threaded end and a hole in the head like a regular cleaning rod

Congrats on your new rifles!  They both sound like they will be good shooters for you.  Post some pics up when you get a chance.

Awesome!  Welcome to SKS-Files goosepit!  thumb1

Interesting that the 2 mil had a barrel full of dirt and the bore in in poor shape with pitting.  That's very interesting indeed!

The HOWTO for posting photos is here: How to post photos - Board Information - SKS-FILES FORUM - Page 1 of 1

You'll need a third party hosting account like photobucket, flikr, or image shack.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you've got!  thumb1

very cool goosepit! I was hoping for some trench art on the last one ordered from rti but it didnt have any.  mine was also somewhat dirty inside barrel. I worked on cleaning it the best i could and it still had some spots of concern so i went and ran twenty rounds of wolf FMJ thur it and it shines now. CONGRATS on your two!

I haven't had a chance to shoot them yet, hoping when I do it will fill in some of the pitting on the 2 million guns barrel with copper from the bullet jackets. It almost looks like rust got under the chrome and pieces of it are missing, the bad bore is all around the hole that goes up to the gas system, maybe 4 inches on each side of it, the rest of the bore looks good. The mismatched dust cover on the 3 million gun is 72838, although it almost looks like some of the trench art says 2838 so maybe that dust cover has been on there for a long time.  Here's a picture of the 2 cleaning rods I got with the guns, the top one fits the guns the bottom does not, anybody have any idea what gun it goes to? I may have to buy a new gun when I figure it out, since I have its cleaning rod :)

I'm not sure what rifle has a cleaning rod like that.   :-\

The cleaning rod is for an AK. Not sure of the origin, it isn't Chinese and as most Albanian made AK's are Chicom copies I'd feel reasonably safe saying not Albanian? Perhaps Russian? It looks just like the rods found with all the Romanian AK kits and wasr's, so maybe IO had some laying around from their Romanian AK kit days?
