Pics of my Norinco SKS and my Type 84 I bought this spring.  Both shoot very well except 84 will misfeed about once per mag.
I am modifying some new ones.  I need to find some chinese mags to mod. I hear they work best with this rifle.  Mods are easy to do.

84 didn't come with mag so I had to mod one.  Have only shot 4 partial loaded mags with about 20 rnds in it and it didn't like the first one sometimes but fired all of them after getting the first one in the chamber.  Need to work on mag a little more. That short bbl sure barks a lot louder than the 20" one. lol

What are you having to do to mod the mag for the 84?

The mags need to be cut down in the front a little and bumps inside ground off so follower will function as bolt hold open on last round.  I did find one AK mag that works as is except for BHO. Type 84 had mags hand fitted to work with rifle and then serialized with rifle S.N.  Mine didn't come with one.

Nice rifles!! Hope your problems with the mags get ironed out.  As an aside, on one of the pillows the floral pattern looks like a pirate...

Ah-ha! I didn't realize that. My knowledge on the commercial models is a bit thin.
