Hey all- Obligatory intro! I'm Steve, and I'm from Utah, if you didn't deduce that from my screen name. I'm retired military and a private security contractor now. My first real centerfire rifle was an SKS, and after many years I've kind of come full circle and found my way back to them. I only have a couple but they're fun rifles and I look forward to reading through the forum and learning from you guys.

Steve, Welcome from Kentucky/Colorado!!! Glad things have full circle.  A fair amount of us here are former/retired military.  Like you, my first center fire was an SKS but back in 1980 I couldn't find ammo for it and it languished in my closet while I was in Okinawa.  Came back to CONUS and used it as a partial trade for a High Power.  Wish I still had both .

Welcome from the dry side of WA. I've spent a lot of time in Utah, but mostly it's been accumulated a few hours at a time in the SLC airport I like the SKS too. I hope you enjoy the site and the group of characters, I mean regulars...uh, regular characters  who hang out here
