Yet another rescue

My sks shelter got another rescue. Rusted butt plate. It's fine to shoot it but at least could you store it right (and CLEAN!!!)?

Anyhow it's safe now. All matching, but would need a thorough cleaning. The stamps are not as crisp as they are on my Tula. Wear or sign of refurb?

also, based on the two letter prefix, should I assume it to be an early '54?
