finally made it deep enough to unearth my old Yugo M59 , very early import judging by two things , first ive had it for ever , lol , second the importer actually removed the action from the stock and very neatly marked it hidden under the barrel , all matched s/n

so why hardly no straight up M59 rifles , everything seems to be a 59/66

There are going to be two types of people in this world , those without toilet paper , and those with plenty of ammo to protect their toilet paper

NICE, I really like the look and color of the grain on that stock.
My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.

Sounds like a Samco import with the marking under the wood.

Because there were only about 25000 M59s made, according to recorded serial numbers, but a total of 654000 Yugoslavian SKSs of all models, M59 long barrel, M59 (std. barrel), M59/66 and M59/66-A1, which means less than 4% of production was in the early M59 configuration.

Here's a table that needs a bit of minor updating of recorded SNs but it tells the story.

I have a C series. Thanks DC, PAX

M59’s are one of my favs. I really dig the dull grey bayonets.  They are like nothing else out there!

Like Bmont, I only have one myself, but it’s probably one of the nicer ones that I own.  thumb1

Ha ha ha ha ha I love to knock the dust off some of them Romanian women !! The more beat up they are the better.  chuckles1  your so proud of your long Yugo. chuckles1 chuckles1 chuckles1 I remember the day you bought that thing from Alan's Armory.

Very nice example of a real workhorse H.H. Love the Darker look on the M59 : ) So Cool
Here's a lighter looking example of a vintage Yugoslavian M59 soldier.

sweet , time was more favorable to your bluing than mine , the edges on mine show wear , Yugo stocks have that grainy stock , almost a laminate vibe to them
