Curious Hoo, do you have duel citizenship through your native nation or another country?

yea Native , im Mi'gmaq ,some call us Micmac hence the other boards name micmacman , born and raised hillbilly ,but my people on my fathers side are all from the  Listuguj reserve in Quebec , because im registered with Bureau of Indian and Indigenous Affairs and enrolled in the Mi'gmaq Band ,  Canada had to grant me un hindered access to Tribal lands in Quebec ,so the only way was to grant duel citizenship , have Canadian SSN the whole bit

the secondary reason is , my father was Full blooded Mi'gmaq , there was a treaty in (i think) 1868 that states if you have at least one parent thats full blooded you yourself are to be afforded all rights and considerations as a full blooded Native , so when someone types in my Registration number it shows full status , or full blooded , as such the Mi'gmaq are a First Nation People , now First Nation People are recognized by both the US and  Canadian governments as being direct decedents of the first humans to step foot on the Continent

As a result Natives that are recognized as First Nation people do not have borders on the North American Continent , essentially we are free to roam from the US/Mexico Border all the way up to the very last Aleutian Island in Alaska  , my father , born and raised on the reserve in Quebec that was once called Restigouche after the Restigouche river was able to cross the  border and enlist in the Army and off to fight in Korea seamlessly ,Canadian one day , US soldier the next

so as First Nation its also implied i have duel citizenship as well via birth right , the theory behind First Nation People is during the last Ice Age there was a Land/Ice bridge that connected what is now Siberia(Asia) and what is now Alaska (NA) , Humans trekked unwittingly across the bridge in search of more hospitable conditions , the the ice age waned and the bridge melted leaving Humans behind on the NA continent , Humans is a important word among the FN People , there is a word for Human in every language of First Nation Bands  , we are not people , we are Humans , we also carry characteristics as Asian folks such as slanted eyes

Interesting background information, thanks! I didn't know you could have dual citizenship, that's very interesting.

i think FedEx lost the rifle , they cant give me a straight answer as to where my rifle is ,or when i can expect it , the first tracking info posted was left Boise facility on the 18th , then departed Salt Lake UT on the 19th , no arrival scan just left Boise 18 th and departed Salt lake 19th , then nothing  ,its been frozen on "delivery pending"

contacted them Friday , said i should see it delivered today , clearly a lie since its still delivery pending , i hate FedEx , its always something with these idiots  , now they say weather , i ordered a part for my AK kit from Tacoma Wa a week after the rifle shipped and it arrived via USPS Saturday , its been a while since i was in school but last i remember Idaho and Wa share a border

There was a day when Fedex was better than UPS for firearm related shipping, but they have had so many bad reports  over the last years I don't see why people still use them. They are also more expensive. I've had better luck with USPS

The past 5 weeks or so have been ridiculous with shipping.  I've shipped stuff at work via all the major carriers, including heavy freight, and by far FedEx is claiming 'weather issues' 3x more than anyone else.  Don't get me wrong, that big freeze in the midwest & Texas screwed things up all over the place for everyone for about 9 days, but FedEx still sends me notice after notice about weather disruptions.  I shipped some hardware from Abq, NM to El Monte, California last week via ground, and got an exemption on weather.  What normally takes 3 days took 7 and delivery is scheduled for today (which I'm skeptical of).  Last I knew, neither NM, AZ, or southern CA had any weather issues last week.  Likely a CYA thing because they are so far behind in their previous deliveries that they are trying to play catch up by delaying any new ones.

If I remember correctly, isn't the shipper the one who has to open the claim? That may just be USPS

I remember one time with UPS at one of the gunshops I worked at a package was lost for a few days then suddenly turned up with the driver. The rifle box had clear packaging tape around it in three places, which I thought weird since it was coming from a distributor, and when I took it from the drive it was super light. He turned to leave and I told him to hold on. I checked and someone had sliced the glued seam of the box open, removed the contents, then taped it back up and sent it on its way. (thus the few days in limbo) I asked the driver if he didn't think anything odd with the box since it was so light? He either was playing dumb or just couldn't be bothered. We notated it all and I took pictures then made hime write on his log what happened before I received the box. Then I called and made the claim and the police for a stolen forearm. Turned out someone in the Kansas City UPS hub was systematically pulling firearms from packaging and storing them under shelving until they could sneak them out of the building. I was just the one that got him caught. He went to jail and we did get our firearm. Don't know how many he stole or if any other shop got their firearms back.
At that time Fedex was a lot better to work with. Can't say that anymore. Tables have pretty much flipped.

Anyway, hope you get it sorted out Hoo

LOL, can of answers, I like that. He probably just opened a tracking ticket to "officially" start looking for the package.

One thing I do.... as much as it sucks and some added expense... go the second day air route. Yes it costs more, but the less time it's in circulation, sitting on a conveyor or sorting table, it removes alot of sitting and temptation. It makes... can actually force the carrier throw a high priority on getting it from point A to point B as quickly as possible, carriers throw alot of effort into the next day and second day, as their reputation is based on the "get it there now factor" driven by big retail this day in time... and if they cant deliver a simple box of tampons and a quart of engine oil next day..... there's gonna be a bunch of pissed off online retail customers.
I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse......

That is part of the reason handguns are required to go minimum 2nd day air, so they aren't so exposed to the carrier populous. Told to me by an ATF agent and a UPS manager.

Last rifle I shipped went 2 day. Even if it's across the country, 2 day. In my experience.. the difference in it and standard shipping is your paying for empty space, next day and 2nd day are usually less than a load hauls, most carriers/standard shipping wait till a trailer is full or a filled to a certain capacity to ship, where as the faster shipments are on a much tighter schedule and the trailer could be full or only 20% full, but the freight leaves regardless of the amount loaded to keep on schedule.

Hey Hoo -
As a dual citizen type of guy, does that mean you also have access to the cool goodies that we can't get here?
