Still going thru my cache, came across this one. YOM, arsenal?
And, any progress on the who, what, where & when on these? Tks!

It’s still considered to be a G. All of the letters except Q and Z have been observed as letter blocks for the 1949-60 Type 56s. If it’s not a G, then where is the G, because it certainly isn’t a Q or Z.

Should be a /26\ arsenal stamp and I agree with Phos that it is a G. Modern Cyrillic is similar, but without the bottom part jutting out to the right. Could just be a font thing???
I have a lower SN than you with the same pre-fix, G2969. My calculation is that it is towards the latter part of the year 1959. I like to think September because I was born in September of 1959. yahoo1
My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.

L is still MIA too. I have moments where I really think L is plausible and then others where G seems more likely...
