The brown truck swung by today...

...and brought me a refurbished true 1950. Manufactured late in the year, by serial number prefix, and apparently went through two refurbishments based on the receiver cover, but it kept its receiver cover and bolt with spring-loaded firing pin.

Hey, who wouldn't want an as-issued 1950, but I'm very happy with this refurb. I am rather enamored with the SKS-45s sporting blued bayonets and laminate stocks, hence the Femme Fatale description  :))

Sexy!

That is a gorgeous laminate stock too, and it got the handguard too...refurbs with hardwood handguards and laminate stocks irk me a bit. Before gathering all the parts to restore my 49/50 whateveritis, I got a laminate stock for it too. But when the hardwood stock matching most of my external parts came along, I switched to it.

Mine is nice, but no where near as strikingly grained as this one. There is something so attractive about the blued bayonets too.
Great score, which seems to be par for the course for you! :)

Thanks Justin!

I agree that it really looks better when both stock and handguard are laminate or hardwood, not a mix  8)
Dead Sexy was my alternative sub-title  rofl

I tell you, running-man 's painstakingly gathered info on the Russians is incredibly valuable  thumb1 Takes a lot of the "guessing and hoping" out of bidding on SKS-45s as long as the receiver serial number is shown.

+1 on Justin's "sexy" and "gorgeous" remarks. And let me say I freak'n love the blued bayonets.  thumb1

Thanks guys!

Yeah, that FFL-03 home delivery is nice, and it has saved me a small fortune in transfer fees  ;)

Wow.

The lack of traverse marks on the bolt suggests little to almost no use.

Given that 99.9% of the 1950's are refurbs, in this case i think the Laminate stock adds to the overall value as well as the aesthetic appeal

Muy  nice!

Hope the one I just got looks close to this nice when I get it done. You always seem to find the creme de la creme on firearms.
My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.
