I had watched some of Ian McCollum's Forgotten Weapons videos where he talks with one of his Russian colleagues and they discuss these different rounds used in Russia with a lot of focus on the 9x39 round.

9.55x39, an interesting invention for a heavily gun-controlled country to allow creation of a legal smooth bore long gun based on the SKS platform. This is a commercial SKS variant that I would like to have due to its oddity  :)) but that's very unlikely in the forseeable future  cry1
