I have seen people write that someone's bayonet is upside down but I can't figure out what they are talking about. Is this a joke or am I missing something? Thanks

Its real.
its much easier to identify on spike style bayonets, if there is one of the spiked edges digging into your hands if you hold the weapon in a firing position with it folded up to the stock, then its upside down. the easiest way to tell on a blade is the blood groove imo.
Do some research and check out picture comparisons, its kind of something you don't notice until someone points it out then you can't stop seeing it.  :)

Got it. Thank you for the explanation, makes total sense to me now.

When my Yugo arrived I had to flip the blade style bayonet over, the thick edge was folding into the stock cutout, the V notch in the metal fore end won't let that work. The bayonet looked odd, not fully folded. I took out the pivot screw and flipped it.
It's no big deal.

On the ChiComs, there is frequently a wear mark where the blade has rubbed in the ferrule cut.  If the wear mark is not in the cut, it's up side down.
