Early 7 digit Chinese SKS?

Hopefully we can make sense out of my SKS.

I just acquired a Chinese SKS. Got interested in the serial numbers and went info hunting on the interwebs. Read lots, from this site to Yooppers and more. No joy, still confused. So here goes...

7 digit serial first 6 digits are 010959*
Short lug
Milled trigger frame
No stamps, no Chinese letters, no pointy two lines.
Rear sites have a "u"

Will post a photo tomorrow sometime.
Any information on this rifle is much appreciated.

Initial impression from the description (no markings except the serial number is how I interpreted it) is that it’s been scrubbed and renumbered, but pictures are key. 

Pictures that will help: Left receiver rail (block out the last digit if you prefer), full rifle left and right, bolt carrier right, bayonet lug, gas block, barrel/receiver/rear sight block junction, top view of receiver cover, and serialized parts

Based on what I've seen of Chinese SKSs in Canada, the 01 could very well stand for a 2001 import date.  The Chinese continued using two number prefix date IDs on their guns long after the 88-94 'commercial' guns that came into the US during 1988 to 1994. 

Photos will help, but that's the best lead I would have for you at the moment.

All serialized parts have the first two digits missing. "01"

The bottom of your trigger housing is serialed too.So receiver,bolt cover and trigger group are apparently matching so far.The rifle doesn't appear to be scrubbed imho.It has features that suggest earlier mid 1970s production to me.But what do I know?

The parts possibly look like post-1965. but I don't  know much about the SKS

Not having the 01 on the piece parts strongly points to 01 being a likely year prefix. 

Gas block is cast...that's a post '70 part.  The trigger group is milled, which is a pre '66 part.  I think it's likely this gun was either built of scrubbed parts (though like BubbaZ states, it certainly doesn't overly look it) or is a gun built from NOS components, and then stamped to match after completion.  The short lug barrel is interesting, though everyone thinks of pressed and pinned barrels as the 'newest', Jianshe did continue building short lug guns like this through year 25 (1980). 

The difference between this gun and the year 23-25 Jianshe /26\ guns is that the Jianshe guns all used standard 'era correct' components whereas this one has components across the spectrum. 

Does the stock have any other markings besides the S/N (with or without the 01 prefix)?

The stock is of no help, the only stamp it has is TAPCO.... sadly I don't own the original stock.

I hadn't seen the bottom of the TG in your collage photo.  That TG has clearly been scrubbed and restamped.  Really looks like a gun put together from parts for commercial export....
