Matchka

211, 234, 031, 31, 3Tk, BXN, NC Star, Serb, Yugo, East German, 'no-stamp', etc, etc.
Does anyone know of a comprehensive list, with pics (link?) of manufacturers/associated country of origin? I know most of the popular ones but I'm sure that I'm way short on the varieties.

Greatguns

When I first read the title I thought you were asking about the SKS stripper CLUB??? Was going to ask when that got started, LOL.
My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.

I don't know of any Matchka but I've got a 351 to add when the list gets started.

We can certainly start one here. Post ‘em up and I’ll catalogue and sort them into a comprehensive thread.  thumb1

THE GOOD ONES

ЗТК (ZTK): Завод Тульский имени Кирова = Zavod Tul'skiy imeni Kirova = Tula Plant named after Kirov

BXN: Czech stripper clips made by Sellier & Bellot

Unmarked: Yugoslavian strippers with phosphate treatment. Presumably, these were made at Igman Konjic (ИК, IK) or Prvi Partizan (ППУ, PPU) despite the lack of markings. Mine came from authentic boxes of ИК made M67 7.62x39mm ammunition, consisting of four full stripper clips per box.

Chinese, various numbers, some with and some without circles: 21, 31, 211. Greenish phosphate treatment or blued.

THE BAD ONES

NC Star, aka POS: 31 marked but the 31 stamp is seen on the inside as well, unlike authentic Chinese 31. The 31 is also a bit larger. Viewed end on the edges appear more rounded, less square, which seems to lead to binding when loading yet they do not hold the cartridges well. The indentation along the length is not as deep, thus reducing rigidity. I find they are difficult to load and they have a lot more play, i.e., the cartridges move laterally far more than authentic Chinese strippers. Sometimes cartridges fall out of the strippers.

Large circle 31 stamp on the obverse side

The 31 stamp shows through the thin steel on the reverse side

NC Star "31" on the left compared to an authentic military surplus Chinese 31 on the right

Good info P32. I happen to have several of the bad 31's and I did notice they didn't hold cartridges the way they should. I didn't know NCStar made them. Thanks for pointing it out.

Well look at that, strippers that look good when the lights are even on!

I have a original Norinco unmarked blued unit that came with my Labanu thumbhole sporter taped to the cleaning kit in the box.It functions well like any other Chicom stripper that I've used.I don't have any experience with the repro knockoffs.

I stand corrected.I cleaned the adhesive residue from the Sporter stripper and I found a 111 arsenal mark.So I guess it likely isn't a knockoff.I should have looked more carefully.

Some more from ready service:

Of the ones in my first post, there is one that LOOKS like a 601, but the serif on the one makes it a 109.  Also in this batch is a triangle 619, a 111, a 141, a 341, and a blank.  Most of these other than the blank I would say are ChiCom.

I have a arsenal 964 in dark gray phosphate type finish.

How about East German BXN70 ?

Ok,thanks for the clarification.I see now that code with a number is still all Czech origin.

Could the "3TK" marked clips also be considered Cyrillic for Teknici Zavod Kragujevac out of Yugoslavia or what is modern day Serbia as well as Russian?

Yeah, the Czechs just started to add the year at some point apparently, so yours would be 1970.

It seems unlikely. The 3TK, either in a diamond, by itself, and generally with a small arrowhead pointing down below the T are all Tula.

Looking forward to the list! Thanks, RM!
