New Old Guy here!

Hello fellas!
I've been reading the forums here for a few days and I thought I ought to put up an introduction.  I'm an old AF vet, electronic tech, machine builder. I used to shoot an SKS my brother had, and I got to remembering what a fun shooter it was, so I went on GB.  The third or fourth listing I saw was a nice looking (to me) Yugo 59/66 so I went for it and got it. The prices kind of shocked me. These rifles aren't getting any cheaper. People were bidding my rifle up so my winning OCD kicked in and made me spend more than I wanted to. 
I haven't received it yet but I have a tracking number to brag on!
Anyway, this looks like the best SKS info there is, so I'll be lurking and learning for a while.

Welcome, TBone and thank you for your service. I just got back into the gun scene about 2+ yrs ago and prices have went up since then also. I will say if you can be patient  ( ... me saying "be patient" comical) you will find a deal here and there. Just stay away from those guys that have a common rifle they think is worth 2x+ the market value reality.

A lot of knowledge here, excluding myself, as you are probably aware.

This site is mellow so don't be afraid to ask everybody but me a question. I'm still learning so I offer info very rarely.

Thanks for the welcomes, guys.  I'm afraid it's too late for me to get one on the cheap, but I've found that I tend to forget how much something cost after using it for a while. I'm just not that good at patient shopping. 
Astronut, some mineral spirits will have you degreased shortly or so I've read.
Larry, I was stationed in AZ and loved it out there you lucky devil!

I'm a transplant. Once I got to be an adult - by law, still not growing up - I left.
Did my thing with Uncle Sam and came back.
Then chased a girl to another state. Lasted a year and moved back.
Then moved out of state for work.  That lasted a year or so as well.

I figure I'm never leaving again.

There are deals to be had still.
Just put the word out and you might find that there are still a lot of them in the backs of closets......
