One of the pastimes I had/have is assembling M1 Garands.  Most of what I've done has been on the Breda (BMR) and Beretta (PB) Danish receivers, either in .30-06 when I have VAR barrels or in 7.62x51, using Italian "BM-59" barrels (23 1/2" long) and assembling them to the Tipo 2 configuration.  This is an odd duck receiver made by Breda for Beretta, and marked for both.  She has a majority of PB/BMB parts and is in 7.62x51.  Stock is a Mechanica Terni and hand guards are PB, all cut for the Tipo 2.  Shots well.  The Italian barrels are of good quality in my experience.   Cheers, Bruce.

Wish I could find more of the receivers at a reasonable price.   I'd still be making them.

Thanks all. I like my Garands.  More to come later.

Very nice work! Certainly beyond my gunsmith abilities.

Thanks, P32.  I'm not anywhere near being a gunsmith, just an advanced assembler and fitter.  Though after building the Garands then going to piecing together AR's, it felt like I went from Tamiya tank models to Lego's  chuckles1
