1960 Romanian

As promised to GM, here's my one and only non-Chinese. I picked this one up at a local pawn shop, having Scottished the salesman down. Most is matchi3ng or force matched except for the bolt, gas tube and cover. All pictured. Not bad shape (I've seen much worse at gun and militaria shows with the sellers hoping for $600.00). Don't sweat the matching number parts.. a large majority don't match, some are worse.

That's a looker..I woulda snatched it...

Old post but what the heck. Bought a 60 Romanian on Gunbroker. Should be here by Wednesday. It doesn't have a sling so I started searching. Found one just like the one in the first pic minus the leather keeper. Is this correct? I'm not really a fan of the double buckle ones. Maybe they will grow on me.

Double buckle ones are the correct slings for the Romy SKSs. I did post in Auctions about some sales on GB for the correct SKS slings. They ain't cheap.

I've only ever seen the double buckle ones, the ones with the metal quick detach hook are a ^%#$%$# to get on and off (or at least the one I had was, it was ridiculously stiff and the opening was barely big enough for the cast loop in the front gas block to fit into). I got rid of that sucker first chance I had. I actually bought one of the ones that GG speaks about to go on that particular Romanian SKS.

I believe the larger super stiff hook slings are for the PSL.. I have 2 or 3 regular AK slings and my PSL came with one that had the hook from hell.
