By the end of the day my SKS collection will double in size!  thumb1 I will now have two of them!

Being a California resident my 10 Day wait is over. I bought a neutered Chinese /26\ SKS that has recently been imported full of Cosmoline. It didn’t come with the bayonet, but I managed to buy one and it’s been sitting patiently in the gun room waiting for the SKS to arrive.

I own a light re-ferb 54’ Izzy and now this Chinese. This will be the “shooter”.  I have owned two other Chinese SKS’s both /26\ with blade bayonets but in bouts of stupidity have been sold. I believe this is one of the recent Classic Firearms batch but not too sure. I believe IO is the importer.  It’s an all numbers matching with the nicer “reddish” stock. It does have some obvious use but does not appear to have been abused too much.

I will provide the serial number for those that are tracking them. It in the 10,000,000 range. I will also start a new thread documenting my journey cleaning it and taking it out to the range.

Looking forward to lots of pics of your new-to-you 1965 Chinese Type 56! The early to mid-sixties Chinese SKS are excellent acquisitions, IMO.

I do like the reddish color issued on some of those stocks. I have a couple of the 23/24 million /26\ Type 56 rifles with the red shellac stocks that are favorites.

Congrats on getting your purchase. Now for cleaning up the cosmoline...always a job.
