Picked up this Winchester Model 12 last week.
12 gauge , 2+3/4 inch. Barrels been cut down rather crudely so I’ll be having it re-crowned as soon as possible.
Blueing is all but gone and it’s got a nice patina to the steel. Wood is a bit rough on the stock , may end up refinishing that with BLO or Tung Oil.
Here she is pictured next to my 1949 Tula sks I recently acquired as well. Enjoy !

Nice Winchester...love the stock, makes my Sears version look like a...well, Sears gun.   chuckles1

Now this 49 you so deftly snuck into the photos....we gotta see more!
Please?  wink1

Second the nomination of a separate pictured-detailed thread for that '49.

The Model 12 is interesting. What are the SBS (Short-barreled Shotgun) rules, if any, in Canada?

I recommend that if you decide to refinish the buttstock on that Model 12 you either try fine steel wool and BLO, to see if you can simply feather the edges on the areas without finish and end up with a smooth finish that doesn't change the color; or use stripper (Citri-strip if it works) and fine steel wool with no sanding to avoid making the metal proud or rounding the edges on the stock at the wrist before staining and refinishing.

Got this pic of the ‘49 today while out shooting it , I’ll get some more detailed close ups this week.
