Figured I'd post this up quick before the import marked Sino-banian 13 millions start rolling in.

Picked up this non-import marked 1968 at an auction a few weeks ago. A matching (I've disassembled to see all the parts and scour it for hidden import marks) 13 million Jianshe that still has preservative grease in the gas tube, trigger group, etc. However, the exposed part of the magazine and bolt carrier especially show brown patina consistent with exposure to a corrosion-inducing environment. I think it's a likely Vietnam bringback that sat since it's return.

Inverted take down lever too....I bet you are right.

Nice that they didn't do the rainforest  beaver chew stock mod to allow for it.

Very cool!

Nice score!

It's none of my business, but did it bash the wallet a lot to pick that one up?

Thanks!  No, they only mentioned that it didn't have import marks. I was happy to win it for $423 with the fees added.

Whats in the box? How many are hiding in the box?  :)
I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse......

Leave the gun, take the cannoli.

I said I was an addict........I didn't say I had a problem

These experienced non-import marked guns in their glorious patina just don't seem to garner the proper level of recognition among internet critics.

But this SKS collector says, "Helluva nice Vietnam bringback you got there, sir."

That's the sides of a packing crate that surrounded a crate of 10 MAS-45s. I kept the three that were consecutive serial numbers, 2 still in the mummy wrap.

Thank-you sir! I agree. I'd love to have a papered bringback but picking up these honest paperless  bringbacks is almost as pleasurable. They are still historically significant pieces.
