I'm a Smith and Wesson fan but I must admit I'm falling in love with this Ruger. This one was made in 1988 and the trigger is unlike any other Ruger experience I've ever had, it's smooth as silk. $395 but the new grips from Chigs set me back another $50. Some aficionados think a revolver with a 3" barrel is perfection, they might be on to something.

I'm a Smith and Wesson/Dan Wesson revolver fan....but I kinda have the desire... to try one of the Super Red Hawks in 10mm, I think I saw a GP100 in 10mm at the dealer as well .  Not a fan of Ruger  but love that round once again.

Sheepy, I like that 3" GP.  I just acquired this Redhawk in .45LC/.45ACP a few weeks back and you can't go wrong with a Ruger IMO.  Also have the SP101 in .357.    Even so, I equally enjoy Smiths if not for their differences, nothing feels like a Model 36 RB snubby or Model 66 4".

Since you love 66s. The top one is a 1972 no dash that belonged to Memphis Patrolman Larry Childress, killed in the line of duty Jan 1982. The bottom is a 1976 no dash with a Mississippi Highway Patrol history. It has the absolute best trigger of anything in my safe. Ahrends target grips.

Nice pieces and interesting histories.  Here’s my 66-2 with Ahrend’s fingergroove stocks.  I also just noticed Colt re-introduced a modernized King Cobra in 3”; never owned a Colt but it looks impressive.

Nice revolver but the Model 66"s first year was 1970 with 100 prototypes made and production for real started in 1971. Stainless rear sights were changed to blued around 1974.

Since we've moved to revolver porn, does anyone remember the old speedloaders that had the push button release?
They look very much like the ones above, but there was a push button top center of the knurled aluminum knob.

Probably one of my favorite revolvers, the S&W 657 in .41 mag, another one of Elmer Keiths spawn. One revolver that is not seen much do to the odd caliber.

It's got more umph than the .357, and has less felt recoil than my S&W 29 wearing almost the same frame, and can do pretty much anything it's big brother can do. It's one of the most underappreciated rounds out there, over shadowed by the .44 Mag and over looked by everyone for the .357 Mag.
