Tula 1950 With 1949 Features

I had posted about this sometime ago. I was finally able to get it. It came in the original importers box and appears never fired since rework. Bore is not chrome lined, spring loaded firing pin, 90 degree gas block all rework matching down to the firing pin, etc. There is a weld to accommodate the replaced spike bayonet.  Had some kind of rubber round count blocker in the magazine well.

Looks JUST like the 50 I used to have. Nice find!! I love the spring loaded firing pins. Wonder why they switched to free floating..

Stock ferrules that were used for spike bayonets were bottom pinned. Your carbine is top pinned , so therefore your carbine came with a blade bayonet. I have a similar 1950 carbine(90 degree gas port) with a blade bayonet and it also is top pinned and has a regular stock, not tapered for a spike bayonet.

Also, just like my 49/50 mystery gun...with the exception of the blobbed stock ferrule. Mine does give an indication as to why they became blobbed...when I was stripping off it's gunkote, I noticed a hairline fracture.

I am glad that I have the receiver cover that goes with the early 50 parts coming from one gun that helped to complete it. Currently it has a 49 cover.   Someday, I hope to know which one is the closest to correct.
