Looking at a Tula dated 1950 rework at auction. It is in excellent shape. Has BBQ paint, blade bayonet and replacement non-laminated stock. It has all 1949 features: 90 degree gas block, looped receiver lever, spring load firing pin, 1949 sight base and lever, 1949 bayonet style base etc.

Early 1950 is a rare bird -- refurbed or not.

Regarding price range I have no idea.

Pics would help.

Also, is the stock date stamped? Arsenal stamped? Force matched?

Personally, that’s too rich for me. A 1950 with early features, except for the spike bayonet is a variant that would definitely interest me at around $1K. However, the heavy refurb of those BBQ painted SKS-45s subtracts ~25% in my book, YMMV.  :)

I agree with P32, $700 is probably as high as I'd be comfortable going on a heavy furb transitional '50. To get me to $1k, it would have to be in absolutely excellent condition. You just don't see transitional '50's like that though, they are all typically extremely rough.

Sagebrush, my advice... listen to their advice. I'd probably be freaking out right now if I saw that gun but I usually try to get photos and ask these guys before dropping that kind of money. If they say you can do better then...... Good luck!
