I lost my sweet Mother this past Friday. Very unexpected. A real punch in the gut. I know it happens, but it still really sucks. I need to put some funds together for her final expenses so I'm wondering if you guys could tell me what to ask for my matching '69 Alby. Hate to let it go but I just need to do it right now.

These are the pics that I posted some time back when I started a thread here in the Alby section. I'm out of town making arrangements, so if any additional pics are needed it will be about 4 days before I'm back home. I can also include the original new-unused Alby chest pouch, and an Alby plastic oil bottle, or bottles. (I have black or tan colors). The rifle came with a well-used Chinese leather-tabbed sling, also included.

Thanks for any help.

First, i am sorry to hear of your mom's passing ,I dred when my mother goes as i lost my dad last year.
Far as the rifle goes..  Its hard to tell in the pics but the stock numbers look like they are Stamped over another number. Is that correct or does it just look that way?  Lately I have seen all matching Albanians bringing 600-800 depending on the gun on GB. I personally would not pay that much but there are folks out there that will. I would Suggest if you have a trust worthy friend to maybe sell them the rifle for 5-600 with the option to buy it back when you have the funds. I just did that for my buddy, a gun he knows i wanted but it was his dads and i understand why he wanted to keep it. He came to me a few weeks back and i could tell something was wrong, he asked me how much i would give him and i said 500(fn1922 pistol), come to find out he was behind on his bills and the repo man was coming for the car. I offered him 600 to help but he told me No, the deal was 500. Personally i think that was a wise choice for him so he can buy it back. Either way, its in my safe with his name on the tag, so if something happens to me before he can buy it back, he will get it anyway.

Thanks Carl. Dad passed back in '97. I guess I'm the oldest of the "elders" of the family now. That makes me feel weird somehow!  :)

Thanks oldcarjunkie. It's been kinda surreal the past couple weeks. I caught myself thinking that "I needed to call Mom" last night, as I have done so many nights in the past. Those are some of the tough moments.

The stock is original. It's my pics that suck. I need to take better pics in the future. Yeah, I had thought about the selling to a friend option. Honestly, I've been so busy taking care of the Trust and such that I haven't had the chance to ask around yet. Hopefully, I can figure out a way to pay the expenses without having to sell the Alby and others. Time will tell.

Thanks to all that have sent condolences! I appreciate it.

I don’t know how I missed this post. My sincere belated condolences. I lost my mom in January 2017 and, in contrast to your situation, it was expected, but like your situation, “it was a punch in the gut”. I empathize and can only offer the observation that your grief (manifested in different ways by different people) is a testimony to the depth of her love.

Thanks for the kind words Phos. Mom was the Matriarch of 5 generations of our family. She was getting close to her 83rd birthday when she passed, but it was still an unexpected blow to us. Some are closer to family and their Mothers than others, I suppose. Being the first born, I had always had a close relationship to my Mother. Every picture in her house, a memory, even sets of memories. I miss her dearly.

Man!     Looks like I missed this post also!

Sure sad to hear of your loss FC....  Anything we can do just let us know.   :(

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Thanks LC. It's good to hear from you guys because I know we all have family that we care about. It helps to relax my mind a bit by coming on here and checking out the latest posts and such. Mom always liked hearing about my collecting. Well, she may not have cared about my collecting as much as she always wanted to know what was going on in my life. She was a jewel in so many ways.

Thanks again guys! Much appreciated!
