Had this one for a while and is likely my best shooter as I completed the Jackalope 22lr challenge with it using iron sights.  For that simple fact I decided it deserves to be opened up via a nice vintage target scope, so last night I D/T the 4 #6-48 required holes for proper placement of the mounting blocks exactly 7.2" apart center/center. The 7.2" spacing gives you 1/4" per click at 100 yards..... 1/8" at 50 yards etc with external adjusting scopes.  The scope is a 10 power Lyman TargetSpot.  I also recently received a VERY hard to find Parker-Hale "Quick-Loader" made specifically for this model from England.  There is a button on the left side of the original rear peep sights that allows the main adjustment portion to slide right up and off of the base.  Swapping between irons and scope is so quick and easy a caveman can do it.

I love this rifle

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

I would say more like 3#, but these match gun BSAs have usually been tweeked and smoothed by shooters.

3# sounds reasonable. Very nice set up! I dig those scopes with super long tubes.
