The closest I ever got was holding one that a buddy owned. He NEVER fired it, and didn't look anywhere near as nice as the stuff posted here.

Is that moon clip a 1 piece design? I always thought they were all half moon clips. I have never seen a 1 piece 45acp clip. My dad had one of these. I wish I had inherited that. It disappeared after his passing, I suspect one of my older brothers snagged it.

I have both clip designs, full and half moon. My S&W 610, 10mm I also use moon clips in it, thats the only way to use 40S&W ammo in it.

My dad had a S&W Model 10 as well as he was a police officer and he was also head of Reagan's security detail when he was Gov of CA (State cop) long before I was born. That gun went missing too. I had some real jerks in my family. Damn vultures, the worst.

Anyway yours is beautiful. The WW1/WW2 US revolvers don't show up for sale as much as they used to and are a very nice addition to a collection.
