Since I've gotten back into boating, thought I'd share this interesting new toy.  It is a PGK-2, used by the Soviet Navy to to find the compass bearing of an object with respect to a coastal landmark and/or a celestial body. This item was last calibrated in 1992.  I purchased it from a milsurp dealer in the Ukraine who got it from a former naval officer's private collection.

Thanks, it is a really cool piece of kit and easier to use than a standard sextant.

Neat.   How in the world do you use that thing?  Are you going to use it....or was it replaced by androids?
