I had to dig through some archives today, and ran across some pics from the past.  Post yours!

I call this one "Back When I Had Only Ten Blade Chicoms"

I'm game.  November 27, 2012.  My First CAI Sino-Banian, fresh out of the shipping box:


Immediately noticed the dual hole buttplate and it was all downhill from there!

I think I would have first noticed the missing receiver cover....but, I assume you were photographing it simultaneously with your other camera for serial data collection, or were you just having a numbers matching moment without it?

Laugh Justin!  If I remember correctly I pulled the bolt to check for numbers on it before anything else. Got grease all over the point & click Kodak I used to take these. It wasn't until I noticed the dual hole buttplate that I realized the stock was the only replacement on the gun.

I wasn't the least bit interested in anything to do with serial numbers. That came much later on.

My first Russian.  Bbq, bubba'd to the max.  I "fixed" it with a Chinese stock that looked Russian and called it good for a while.  Now it has a date matched Russian stock...

I seem to recall a bunch of covers hit the market, and blanks went sky high right around then...so I wondered.

I kind of want to get an Albanian butt plate, and drill out the lightening hole on a Russian...and have an extra hole for other...stuff.  Maybe the survival kit from a Rambo knife... or one of those emergency cigarettes with a match in a glass tube....

I will play...heres when I only had ten Korean Paul Stanley Monarchs....just shy of 10% in the total run....I digress, I was looking for old SKS pics and this came up first...I actually had 12...I just ran out of wall.


Here is my 64 9m spiker...it looks a little different now...as it is adorned with XXXSKS Joe's parts...and currently my only bubba. She can look like this again in minutes....


She is now a naughty creature of the night wearing an Aussie Thumbhole, an early Tapco gas tube without the silly rail, an Albanian blued carrier... a Chinese blade refinished in black...scoped with a sweet Red Star PU reticle scope...a real multinational incorporation....but, that is a present story...not the past.

This is older than I thought maybe one of my earliest digital firearm photos, date says 3/6/10...I'm guessing this was just the x39 rifles I had at that time.

I must have found an Albanian even earlier than I thought, and my first MAK90 was fresh out of the plastic bag and foam container. I think I still have that top Chinese.......somewhere, and of course the M59/66 I got 10/11 years before all the rest of my junk.



Just over 6 months later...for shame........   the downward spiral had begun, the big 5, 2-Chinese, Russian, Yugo, Romanian, and Albanian. Must have been a fun summer..

Since I lost pretty much all the pics from the past of stuff I owned on my pc after it crashed, this is about the best I can do from 58 years ago.  I was 13 months at the time.  Such a pretty baby, dont you think?

Here's a group insurance photo. These are some of my mil-surp bolt guns, a few are unmolested (never arsenal refurbed or upgraded), as issued, parts assembled (mis-matched #s), or cloned (Santa FE). I like a good wall hanger and am not oposed to displaying them. Enjoy, PAX

Like Martin, I also hunt game with my SkS
