Why do I feel as if this is a trick question?   

Not a trick question at all.  I do like my Russian 1954 Tula, I did like the Romanians and Yugos when I had them but, I much prefer to shoot my Chinese "ghost" mixmaster.  Maybe because I dont want to "bang up" the Russian outdoors by a careless mistake on my part?   
I guess I just have a more "sexual thing" for my Chinese SKS rifles than I do for my others!

Okay, two questions:

1)  Which country SKS is your favorite to collect and why?
2)  Which country SKS is your favorite to shoot and why?

My answer to question 1 is Chinese SKS rifles because I am fascinated by the different years, series, etc.
My answer to question 2 is also the Chinese SKS rifles because all of my Chinese ones have never had a hiccup once, where at times I have had an issue or two with my others including Russian, Romanian, and Yugo.

1- obviously Chinese for me. Similar reasons as yours. There are so many more variants and so many more years of production, that equate to literally dozens of different models, styles, and build processes.

2- this one is tougher. Most SKSs shoot pretty much the same. My Yugo shot great. My old beat up Russian sneak shot great. All Chinese shoot great. But I would have to narrow it down to Commercial Chinese models as my favorite to shoot.

1- Romanians... Cause they got sexy leather slings, easy to date, pretty blueing, ugly stocks and Vlad the Impaler.....plus everyone else would rather buy a Russian, cause it's Russian, Albanian, cause they are rare, Chinese, cause they are everywhere or a Yugoslavian, cause they are almost everywhere.  So that leave more Romanians....for me

2-Any SKS someone else offers me to shoot with their ammo... It's a free fix, cause it cost me nothing to do or of mine... No real preference...typically I beat on my Yugoslavian m59/66 or a mundane Chinese I have kicking around. Of tnose 2, whichever one I pick up first, works. I haven't shot my commercial ones enough to really form a true hard core opinion yet. And I don't like the thought of damaging my precious Romanians.

only have two, so easy to answer.    1) Sino-Soviet and 2) my silver ghost (has hardly any bluing left).
