I was cruising through GB today to see if I could post an item of interest for someone on this site, but was astounded instead by the ridiculously high asking prices for common Russian SKSs.  :o Is this what happened prior to the '94 ban?  If so, I am glad I'm not going to be buying again until 2017!!  thumb1

Here is an example of a current offering: "Russian SKS 1954 Tula All Original Norinco Izhmash" (whatever that is) and the link: http://www.gunbroker.com/item/587852443

Can you imagine; $1,499.00 BIN???????  What's going on here??

I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse......

Leave the gun, take the cannoli.

I said I was an addict........I didn't say I had a problem

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Tank50

I'd only be worried if someone, anyone, actually put a bid on that. Description and opening bid reads like a joke.

carls sks

can ask whatever.  :o ......... seems to be plenty of ammo and guns available, don't think there is a panic "yet".  geezer1
ARMY NAM VET, SO PROUD!

Power Surge

This is nothing new. Lots of people out there have no clue what the current market value is on these guns. I watch the GB listings daily. There's always someone asking $1000+ for a heavy refurb Tula, or $700 for a 70s Chinese spiker.

This gun has been on GunBroker rolling over and over ad nauseum for well over 10 months now...

Nice enough gun.  Worth a $700 BIN?  Appears not.  I've seen it pull $450-$475 bids and still not sell.

From the GB listings, I think there's a slump in prices right now aside from VN bringbacks, Albanians, or the big three.  Everything I see is selling for just a little bit less than it did earlier in the year.  Not a ton, but a noticeable trend when plotted from January.

That's a very good point, there is a huge difference between listing and selling price and I was just focusing on the up surge in listing prices without factoring in what these guys were actually selling for as the election year draws to a close.  My bad.... wink1  I suppose things also taper off and prices sag a little due to the end of year holidays.

I figured everyone would be going ape-shiz by now with our new Hitlery about to be throned.

Since I live in a very Commie state, that has been the impetus behind my purchasing what I could over the past few months.  I wish I could have picked up my long distance beast, but gun/ammo money ran out and I will have to wait until next year for that one...

I'm torn between 2: Either a Desert Tech SRS-A1 (my current 1st choice) or a GA Precision GAP-10 gen 2 both chambered in 6.5 Creedmore sporting a Vortex Razor HD 5-20x50 scope.  :)
