I am way late this month.  I may have to skimp badly on the RM notes for all other flavors as I just don't have the time.

5 Romys this month.  I still consider the Romy to be the best value in SKSs today.  They are built like tanks, even if they trend a bit uglier then their brethren.

Lowest Sale Price: $355.00
Avg. Sale Price: $397.00
Highest Sale Price: $450.00
As-Issued Avg. Price: N/A

Please let me know any feedback (good or bad) to these.

If you have an objection or observation to add to anything I've listed, by all means call it out.  Let's look at it long and hard (I only look at each listing for a minute or two at most) and maybe everyone can learn a thing or two!  thumb1

Item Link   Description   # Bids   Final Price   Year   Arsenal Condition   Current Condition   RM's Notes

566553578   Romanian SKS 7.62x39 1960 Like New   1   $400.00    1960   Bubba   Fair   Not a big fan of this one.  Stock looks sanded and dickered to me.

567824439   Romanian SKS With Sling   1   $355.00    Uncertain   Uncertain   Uncertain   This auction is so bad that I can't even be certain that it *is* a Romy.  Bayo almost looks Yugo M59-ish.

569669084   SKS Romanian Model 56 Rifle 1960 7.62x39   1   $450.00    1960   Refurbished   Fair   This price is a bit high for a mixmaster...

570186474   Romanian M56 ( SKS ) 1957 all matching numbers   1   $400.00    1957   Refurbished   Fair   Nice little refurb here.  $400 isn't out of line at all.

573244790   Romanian Model 1956 SKS 7.62X39   11   $380.00    1960   Refurbished   Fair   This one has definitely seen some use but still looks to have lots of life left.  I like the grain in the stock, don't get to see that too often in Romys.

Not so sure this one was dickered with.  I have seen plenty Century imports at cabelas years ago that were just like this.  Basically a heavy re shellac.. Romanian 'reworks' never seem to be a complete 'like new' process like you would expect from say russia or china.

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

RM..look at the bayonet lug... screw is not milled out like a Romanian and the bolt has the 0-00.004 stamp if you zoom in.. it ain't a Romanian, it is a $355 M59  thumb1

Somebody may or may not be pissed :)
I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse......

I agree---this looks just like my M59 once I replaced the bayo; even down to the darker-stained wood. 8)   I hope the buyer is happy cuz he/she really got a pretty good deal for a 59.....

Could be, could certainly be!!

The reason i went bubba unstead of refurb is because the seller said the stock S/N is basically gone. That sounds like a home brew sand job with a poly finish.

Still, could easily be a factory 'furb.   thumb1

Good catch Carl, very good catch. I totally missed that. I'll update this list and send this gun to the Yugo list.

Dammit Maverick!  I wish people wouldn't call everything a Norinco:

571034822   Norinco SKS, 7.62x39, with Mount, Sling & Bipod   1   $379.95    1960 1958   Bubba   Fair   Uhm, no not a Norinco.

I'll update all the lists when I get done with the Chinese section... bat1
