If any of you guys have a Chinese Honor Guard in your collections, would you mind taking a snapshot of the import stamp and posting it for me.  I ran across this Chinese HG:

and it has this import stamp, which I *think* is GBE out of Huntington Beach, CA.  (would be nice to 100% verify that what these actually say for the Commercial Chinese Import Stamps post)

I also want to see if all the HG's are from this same importer.

Mostly I see HGs made from letter series Type 56s. Here's mine. No "certificate of authenticity".

All were imported by ONE importer/person.

Andy Sun of CA imported 600 of these rifles in 1993 during the Clinton ban on bayonets. Andy acquired  boyos of unknown origin then had them chromed and installed them on the rifles. Andy had sold roughly 2/3 of the 600 rifles before Don at Omega took over the remaining rifles. Don did not have bayos chromed and installed, so any rifle bought through him would have not had a bayo installed. Not a single bayo found on these rifles will be original from China.

I talked to both gentlemen via telephone conversation.    thumb1

Mine is serial 8151351

Lord... please forgive RM for he does not know how deeply buried this rifle was and how hard it was to get to.

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Thanks guys, much appreciated!  Those import stamps are all absolutely identical all the way down to the deep "7." & "CA" portions of the stamps and the almost non-existant bottom line of the "E" in "GBE"  For some reason I was thinking that the Omega batch were totally different than the Andy Sun batch, but that's not the case (no idea why I thought that, but hey RM can be wrong too, right?  :-[) .

We can conclude that this GBE stamp is a late 1993 early 1994 stamp based on the COA and the matching stamp on your run-of-the-mill type 56's allows us to date the year of import on those as well (which all should be post AWB bayonet-less guns).  thumb1
