Interesting early /106\

I found this one while going through the June GB sales.  The factory stamp isn't super easy to make out, but unless it's some unknown /1XX\ stamp we've never seen, the only one it matches up with is /106\.  I make this to be an 11 mil /106\.  No Chinese characters (just like all other /106\s)  This factory now appears to have produced from year 11 all the way to year 23, 12 years worth of production!  Short lug, early bayo lug, spike bayo, early bolt carrier, std. receiver cover takedown lever.

The magazine is a bubba and the stock is a replacement, but I wonder if the RSL is as-imported or was put on here in the states?  Either way, I thought it was unusual and interesting.

That RSL looks like an AK/ SKS cross. Only goes up to 800 like an AK but the slide is from a SKS maybe?

Maybe originally built like this due to a shortage of SKS parts?  Maybe put on at refurb?  Could easily be a bubba as well.  I think bubba is most likely based on the windage adjustment w/ the slotted setscrews on the sides of the sight.  Definitely fancier than your run of the mill std. SKS RSL.

On the rear site.... it don't look like a normal adjustable Ak/RPK sight, the numbers seem cast, ok they are raised not stamped in/milled like a typical SKS or Ak. One other thing of note, it does not seem to have the typical v-cut, it looks like a square cut. Meprolite has one very similar in the way it adjusts and looks.

Dang you GM!  Accursed facts always get in the way of a good story. 

I was about to call it an NVA produced RSL that pairs perfectly with a plastic grenade launcher from Elbonia!

Uhhh......sorry   Ill be quiet.....wait

It can be what ever....Maybe even a super secret uber steath Chinese sniper sight, its plastic so the mark cant hear you tweaking on it.. . Can even be.....tackykool, it lightens the weapon, removes unnecessary weight.
