Hey everyone. We have hundreds of members but we have only seen a fraction of the SKSs in our combined collections. Nothing we like more than seeing pictures of firearms.

So post up your first Chinese SKS, your favorite, your entire collection, one at a time, perhaps limited to no more than 10 pics.

As always, don't hesitate to post a detailed story, analysis and as many pictures as you care to of an SKS in its very own thread

To kick this off, here's the first SKS that I ever acquired.  A mere 29 months ago I bought this from Classic Firearms as my second purchase on my 3 week old FFL-03. It's a mixmaster Ghost Type 56 with a Tula Receiver cover and an Albanian name: "I. Ferko" carved into the bottom of the stock foreend, and many metal surfaces that have been worn until they're "in the white"...and I love it!  :)

First sks was 29 months ago?...  You must have bought 2 a month since!!!

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

:)) Nah, only about 0.6 SKS/month on average.

Come on, show us one of yours LC. Let's keep the party going!

Top choice!  thumb1

Well, LC set the condition and rarity bar high, but I set the condition bar low with my Type 56 that took a tough road from China to Albania to the shores of the USA, with little bluing and even less shellac to show for it.

So go ahead and post 'em if you got 'em!

How about this one....

I keep comparing the two you have posted, LC. Is that the same rifle, just different picture sessions?

Here is our first one, a rectangle arsenal gun [0306]. It has a stamped trigger group, a 2 piece gas tube with a cast rear sight base and of course the pressed\pinned barrel. It's all matching, nice and clean and a real straight shooter.

I bought it in a Heber Springs, Arkansas gun shop a couple of years back. When I got home and Mary took a turn shooting it, she confiscated it and I had to go back and get the other one (a /26\ 3 mill gun). That's the way girls do ya sometimes!

Occasionally we put on the scope & and one of a dozen 20 round Tapco mags (which runs perfectly), go to the range and it will easily bust "pumpkins" all day at the 200 yard range.

Here is my Ruby Red 6 mill still packed in cosmoline...

They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "Stick to the Devil you know."

Wow, beautiful. Looks like Marys fire-engine red rectangle arsenal gun. Tell us more about this one John!

Danny, I got this sks along with my Type 84 and about 800 rds of chinese ammo from a guy who's father-in-law passed.  At the time, I didn't know much about SKS's and offered him $600 for all of it....and he said "ok, I sold some at Cabelas BNIB for $200 each!"

The 6 mill is all matching (besides the ruby stock) and is packed in every nook and cranny with cosmoline.  I also got a really nice 8 mill from him in a jungle stock.  The bluing on the 8 mill is like new!

Greasemonkey

My two 9mil /26\, fairly close in serial numbers, but not in life, one lived a rough life in the Middle East, the other seems to have had a cushy life.

I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse......

Leave the gun, take the cannoli.

I said I was an addict........I didn't say I had a problem
