Information on the Sniper SKS from the Russian boards.

Information for sniper SKS:
Report 329 from October 24, 1949: Tested sniper rifles fitted with bracket OKB-180 and plant 536.

References used:
1. TTT GAC: 05143 on SKS sniper.
2. TT GAU: 05146 for revision of the gross production of SCS.
3. Drawings on the gross production of SCS.
4. TU: 3572 with the addition of 01,075 on the gross production of SCS.
5. Letter OKB-180 and drawings for sniper SKS.
6. Letter Factory: 536 and drawings for sniper SKS

Present:
From the OKB-180 - The head of the OKB - SG Simonov, Locksmith debugger - Nikonov, NV from plants 536 - Art. Engineer debugger Kostromin AM

Design Features:
Carabiner OKB-180: put a new trigger with 2 intercepting sear, attentive descent, and a new fuse.
Changed ejectors: one on ABC type with the leaf spring, and the second - the type of machine gun SG.
Put the stamp-welded cover of the receiver.
Carbines plant 536 manufactured according to the drawings of gross production and have a change of only - setting arm and weaned bladed bayonet.
A key for the front sight and a screwdriver to adjust the scales.
The bracket is similar to bracket the factory 74 on the modernized sniper rifle, but has a non-adjustable spherical heel.

When tested rifles large number of shots (up to 6000) delays and breakdowns were not the weapon. Survivability barrel rifles exhausted, locking assemblies satisfactory strength.

Brackets plant 536 satisfy the TTT.
OKB-180 Brackets do not meet due to loosening clamping screw.

Conclusions:
7.62 mm sniper SKS OKB-180 with ejector for the ABC type, altered trigger and fuse (except stamp-welded cover) it is advisable to modify in the direction of improving the accuracy and stability of the battlefield. Carabiner holder equip the plant 536.

Cool information. D.N. Bolotin's Soviet Small Arms and Ammunition shows this model and labels it "Experimental semiautomatic sniper carbine SKS-45". Does the Russian site indicate anything other than prototypes?

Google translate has a lot of trouble with Russian  :)) One mis-translation I could confirm: fuse = safety

No. 536 = Tula

Looks very much like these examples I've seen on the .ru boards (and subsequently seen on carbinesforcollectors.com & others):

The moderator who posted these at http://www.yaplakal.com/forum2/st/50/topic1326167.html / http://ruforum.mt5.com/threads/84272-voennaya-tema/page84had this to say:
Quote from: Volangott / KROVLJSniper SCS Photos of Bulgarian arsenal. At the end of the 50s (closer to 60 m) in Bulgaria, a limited number of experimental specimens sniper SKS was manufactured. In my view, the information that is available at this time for sniper SKS, very curious !

Very similar to the Yugo sniper concept with the receiver mounted, PU inspired mount.

Trigger is def different...  Whats with the left/right flip safety?

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

One might wonder why they went to such trouble with this carbine when they had other rifles/carbines more suitable. I would like to own one of these for the historical significance.
