Big 'ol list a Romanian goodies, but since after all, I am the "Enabler" rofl  You kinda missed one, a nice one, a big one bat1  Romanian PSL-54c  banana time

1 of the many I had in my hands back in the day, that I didn't get and am kicking myself for these days... cry1 During the AWB  Ran into a few of these as Romak III's but at the time was more into AKM's in 7.62x39. But...apperently I'm into x54 now so Yeah...I've been looking at 'em  :-[ Been seeing 'em pop up a bit, so they are definitely on my "long" list and if the price is right might just get on the short list  rofl

Already have the scope mount anyway, so might as well. Untill then the Romak 1...after a few drinks maybe...might play dress up as a PSL  rofl  ( really does look like a mini version with the scope mount and a 5rd mag)

With friends like yourself...The seams of the ole wallet aren't in any danger of being stressed  rofl

Thanks AH!  I'm quite happy with it.   :)

I took out both of the pictured firearms today.  The Tokarev is always fun to shoot, I really like that 7.62x25mm cartridge and the pistol feels good in my hands.  The M44 shot left a couple inches at 25 yds with Romanian silver tip and I didn't have anything to push the front sight so I didn't do any long range shooting. It grouped well though, so I'm sure it'll shape up just fine.  thumb1

I need a Romanian SKS and was on the lookout on GB for a reasonably priced nice one...until that Yugo M59 caused me to stray and ran off with my gun funds  chuckles1

Sheesh GM, that PSL is cool and it's on my long list too but I have other items in line in front of it

armedhippie

Here's my '53 TT-C and matching '55 M44 Romanian. I would love to end up with a matching year pair of these....anything to rationalize getting more...Right?  rofl rofl

I'm with ya on the 7.62x25 It was love at first boom.

My Romanian lineup only had a SKS sized hole in it before...now there's a PSL sized 1 as well. Thanks alot GM aka "the Enabler" Besplode   rofl rofl rofl

Recently picked up a beautiful 91/30 1939 Tula refurb in a deep red laminate stock. Goes well with my 1939 Izzy. Mosins are meant to be collected in pairs right?  rofl

Thanks man. I need to work on really making these laminate stocks pop cuz the pics don't quite do it justice. The red doesn't come through as much but it is definitely a deep dark color. Here it is in comparison to a nice red/honey Laminate '50 Tula SKS ( My BBQ'd baby, My 1st and still my favorite) In the right light it looks almost deep red then turned slightly it comes out as a honey color. I do love the lamanite stocks, I was stoked to get my 1st laminate mosin.

Nice one Hippie! (I mean the SKS not that 8 ft long boat paddle)  chuckles1

j/k, that 91/30 is nice too, I love the way a red shellacked laminate stock pops in the right light.  thumb1

Thanks RM, That's my baby, A transitional 1950. She may be a BBQ'ed refurb...but she's beautiful and a tack driver still, after 16 years and 1000's of rounds. The 91/30 is a shorty compared to a M91. Say you lose the remote, slap on a bayo and you could change channels on the tv in the living room...from the kitchen  :))

I'm telling ya RM these mosins may have gotten me by the short and curlies  but they still don't outnumber my SKSs and I plan on keeping it that way...so its a win-win.

The history on these is just fascinating and ya'know most of us here have a bit of a proof/stamp fetish...let me tell ya, mosins are loaded with stamps.

This pic is for GM, Can't remember if I've posted this 1. Plan on getting more pics this weekend.

1st is the same Izzy 91/30, 2nd is the P-series and the 3rd is my 1941 Tikka on a 1896 receiver

That Finnish P-26 is a beauty!  That's a really nice addition to the Mosin collection  thumb1

Love me some P-series thumb1. Ok, the Enabler had a little drool escape, it happens. fart1  Cool interesting history on them, proof the Finns wasted, nothing.

Now you need to indulge two of your joneses at once...  wink1

Wz-48, next to antique M39.

Hey Oli!  Long time no see!  Hope things are going well for you.

I actually like the lines of that WZ-48, very Mauser looking!  How have I not seen one of those before?!  If I was to get a Mosin (big if there as we all know!) it would likely be one of those!  OK1

Thanks AH! I figured you'd appreciate this French-Imperial Russian-Finnish loooong rifle  :))

armedhippie

w/o a doubt man, love it! Any chance you have or can get a pic of the finger splice on that stock? I'm kinda digging the contrast in wood colors. EDIT: Just noticed the JH beside the S.A. stamp. I haven't seen that before....My p-series has a fairly big stylized J near the butt plate on the wood. It has had me puzzled.

The crazy mixed up history on some of these, is 1 of the reasons I enjoy them so much. 1 finn M91 I have has at least 6 different arsenals parts! My stamp/proof OCD had a field day looking up all those stamps.  rofl

Love the 1894 date on that puppy. My oldest is my P-26 with an Izzy receiver marked 1896. I just had to shoot it  :-[  :) I need to do a post on the P-series , the story on them is downright  cool.
