Just got one

Hi folks. I just picked up what I figure (using the criteria from this site) is a matching number 1959 Chinese SKS from a dealer at a local gun show 2 days ago. Had about 20 people stop or hail me about it as I carried it around for the next few hours. I'm a handgun guy mostly and likely won't shoot this SKS much but it is my first step towards the AK I was really wanting to buy but couldn't afford.
Anyway... I look forward to completing the survey and sending in some pictures. So far I think I got a darn nice deal.

Welcome to the site!  Sounds like you've got a letter prefixed gun.    They are ridiculously well built and I'm sure you will have a good time at the range with it!  Make certain you tear her down all the way to look for grease goblins in the works, especially the bolt.  99% of the slamfire issues I've ever heard or read about are from grease or debris in the bolt firing pin channel as a result of not fully tearing it down and cleaning it.
