There is really no possible way to tell what order etc the numbers are to be read... Take a look in the stickys, we have it listed as ?7 and an explanation why.

Arsenal Stamps in Chinese SKS (Military) - Page 1 of 1

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Ah, good call. Are there actual pictured examples of the /?7\, both with and without the broken line on the bottom of the triangle? In the Survey stats collected so far, was this particular /\ arsenal imported by a single or multiple American importer/s?

BTW, congrats on the updated and vastly improved Arsenal Stamp Sticky!

I dont think we have but a few pics...  May have to change the arsenal drawing..  Dunno, but I hate doing that if its simply a broken chunk.

We've got zero entries into the survey of ?7 guns, that was one of the reasons my search for arsenal stamps was so depressing.  My pathetic compilation of 2 examples have come from GunBroker auctions.  The third known example with S/N 2400333x is the one that padams8888 just posted.   Pretty small sample size to try and draw any conclusions from unfortunately.

The one 2400286x gun I show above is a CAI St Alb VT import stamped on the left side of the receiver if that helps though.

I personally think this is an example of a broken stamp...the other ?6, ?8, and ?9s differ by the missing chunk and the central number.  I would assume they were intended to be identical save the center number.

Take these ?6 examples only 73 guns apart:

Tnats exactly what I'm talkin about!   Nice example RM!

Yup...   These little chunks DO break off and even occur on /26\ guns.

Maybe CAI (Century Arms International) did this before they shipped it to a supplier. I seen the CAI stamped on the pictures above. And the battle zero on the rear sight looks really strange....

CAI did what to the gun?  I'm not following you.

The rear sight markings are not like they should be...From what I seen...

Greasemonkey

Very unlikely Century did it, they have enough problems doing import stamps, much less stamping a tiny rear sight blade.
I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse......

Leave the gun, take the cannoli.

I said I was an addict........I didn't say I had a problem

Yeah...  These numbers are not just painted. They are stamped and then paint filled.
