clap1  Nice one!  Looks really good!
When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "Stick to the Devil you know."
Rudyard Kipling  1919

Is this one as nice as your other LB's Tony?  I notice the bayo could be the M59 gray coated variety, is it?

Very nice.

Loose}{Cannon

All LBs have the gray m59 bayo.....

Looks creat Carbine!

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Very nice carbine,  Carbine! I'm lovin the looks of these long barrels. Any idea what that date of 04-05-2005 means?

ROFL, I just noticed that BBWAG's LB has a silver 59/66 bayo (with the 59/66 bayo collar) on it.  Not sure how the heck I missed that.  Bizarro  thumb1

Sweet rifle! Looks good but I want to see more   drool2  :)

That's the date that they reviewed its condition and preserved it with modern Cosmoline (Tectyl 502C)

Very nice non-carbine Carbine!  dance2

I too await more pics!

Roflmao....  Yeah, not original.  Also has a replacement stock from a non LB  because the cut shouldn't come back that far.  Looks like this 034 is the same way.

Good point Justin, they're long enough to qualify for a rifle!

Yeah you can see the remnants of the old S/N on the stock of Carbines 034.  Bah, swamp donkey!  Hey Carbine I'll give you $200 for it! :)

My question is...are they long enough for RM to consider them a canoe paddle?  More for the rest of us?!   preved1

more shameless new emoticon abuse...sorry wacko1

I would love one of these, it would look better next to my 91/30 than a boring Sears & Roebuck Winchester shotty.  I am really curious if any of the new owners will actually shoot them and post range reports...the longer barrel, and also being non chrome lined could lend to these being some real tack drivers I would suspect.

Loose}{Cannon

This is my take on 'why' the longer barrel.

I think it has nothing to do with accuracy as many sks carbines have been shortened and reported tighter groups etc.  I believe it was an attempt to increase the cycling reliability and here is why.  The gas piston is driven rearward with the gas pressure BEHIND the bullet after it passes the gas port.  Therefore the more length of barrel between the gas port and the muzzle, the longer and stronger gas pulse to drive the action.  The rate of fire is also effected.  Think of the AR plateform having same length gas systems with dif length barrels etc.

My yugo sporter had several issues that had to be corrected before cycling correctly after being shortened.

I bet these LBs cycle like crazy.

Dannyboy53

LOL...I agree Justin! I would like to have one also, I'm fascinated with them and curious about how they will shoot with that longer sight radius and barrel.

Direct Connection

Thats awesome looking ! The Yugos have taken over the SkS world of late ! I have a question. Alans had a long bbl Yugo on his site for along time and nobody bit and these came out and were gone in seconds. Was / is there a difference in the two. Did anyone else see that post at Alans Armory ?

Loose}{Cannon

I have never seen one at Alans...   :-\

Dannyboy53

Yep, it may not affect the accuracy enough (if at all) to write home about, but it will increase the velocity and the bullet energy a wee bit.

Do these barrels have the same twist rate as the shorter SKS carbines?

Did you end up snagging one RM? If so you know what number you got yet?
