Only 3 Albys this month, $475.00 low, $600.00 high, $525.00 avg.

Please let me know any feedback (good or bad) to these.

Item Link   Description   # Bids   Final Price   Year   Arsenal Condtion   Current Condition   RM's Notes

500030594   Albanian SKS Semi Automatic Rifle Matching   1   $475.00    1978   As-Issued   Fair   I've seen worse but I've also certainly seen better.   With so few Albys up this month, I don't think it was a bad buy.

502590041   Rare Albanian SKS all matching # 1969 manufacture   1   $600.00    1969   Bubba   Good   Buyer couldn't hit the BIN fast enough.  Man that glare should have been a giant flashing neon warning sign.  Alby wood simply doesn't look like that....*ever*.  Add in the super dark S/N stamp on the buttstock and you have a massively refinished stock.  Don't get me wrong, it looks nice, but this is simply not a $600 rifle.  Buyer reached and will be lucky to unload this one for $400 IMO.  Seller wasn't the most upfront either, You have to wonder if the poor photos were intentional to hide the humped fact of this carbine.

503171607   Albanian SKS Rare dated 1969 matching   3   $500.00    1969   As-Issued   Good   This gun is head and shoulders above the other '69 this month.  Huge difference in collectability between the two.  Very nice.

I watched all of these and didn't really like any of them enough to bid. That $600 dollar '69 definitely screamed refinished, you could say the seller was being truthful, in a misleading way: "Albanian SKS in this condition are almost impossible to come by."  :o  :))  The one that went for $475 was most appealing to my eyes, but the 11 stamped over a 0 on the bolt carrier turned me off.  I'm looking but I'm not in a hurry.

One of these days the right Alby will come by for you to jump on Jon.  I'll keep my eyes peeled and send you a link in the event I see one that might fit the bill for you.

The more I think about that humped '69, the more I think the seller knew exactly what they had despite them saying it was an estate sale item.   think1

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

My '69 Alby has a similar wood grain pattern to the $600 '69 that was obviously refinished. I always thought it would be a nice stock to refinish. But I never will.

Not quite sure what the other '69 looked like in it's original state, though.

There's a guy selling 4 or 5 Albys on GB, that have been there since I've been on GB. They are always the first ones to come up on the page, and the prices seem pretty reasonable. Is there something wrong with these guns that nobody is buying them?

Loose}{Cannon

Iirc they each have an issue or two and are priced too high.
